If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, please contact the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Hotline 800-25-ABUSE (800-252-2873) as soon as possible – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Try to be specific and give agency personnel all information you have about the child and suspected abuser.
- Even if you have doubts as to whether what you’ve seen is abuse or neglect, please call the hotline where trained agency staff can decide.
- Your report is confidential.
