Fall 2025 Pre-Service Training

Pre-Service Training is our 27 hour training program that all approved prospective volunteers must successfully complete in order to become an advocate with Champaign County CASA. Participants learn from members of our staff, with the help of local experts in key fields, who provide information about the child welfare system, child welfare law, and factors that can bring families into the care of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). This is a fully interactive program that encourages participation via discussion, activities, and lectures to help prepare prospective volunteers for the role and work of becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate.

To be considered for the upcoming pre-service training, please complete an application and a pre-training interview.
